• Aidan Amann
While studying with UK jazz greats including Clark Tracey and Andrew Bain at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Aidan has been performing regularly around the midlands and beyond.
Since his early gigs with his father, pianist Tim Amann, Aidan has gone on to play with the best up and coming talent in the country, at prestigious venues such as Peggy’s Skylight, 1000 Trades and with members of the Siena Conservatory at the 2022 Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
• Nick Manz (piano) has been praised by critics as ‘exciting, absolutely brilliant’ (Ayanna Witter-Johnson), with ‘rapid, shimmering pianism and virtuosic melodic fluency’ (Planet Hugill). After studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Rob van Bavel, he was then offered a scholarship at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where he now studies. Artistic influences include Sullivan Fortner, Kenny Kirkland and Olivier Messiaen.
Nick is a regular performer on the Birmingham jazz circuit.
• Josh Vadiveloo is a bassist from Bedfordshire. He began playing electric bass at age nine and took up double bass to play in his upper school orchestra; resulting in a four-year scholarship award to study jazz at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with tutors Mark Hodgson and Arnie Somogyi!
Josh, is a highly active member of the UK jazz scene, whose rise as a local name continues to gain momentum, performing & touring with Xhosa Cole and being an active sideman & band leader.
Josh gigs regularly in various venues in and around Birmingham, abroad and in Europe.
We’re thrilled he’s finally joining us at The Blue Piano!
