Impossible Conversations is a jazz band that blends the sounds of traditional jazz with contemporary musical styles. Made up of a group of young musicians, each bringing their unique musical backgrounds to the table, the band creates a sound that is both familiar and fresh. With a deep love for the Jazz genre, the members of Impossible Conversations seek to push the boundaries of jazz and create something truly special with every performance.

As one of the most versatile and in-demand rhythm sections in the country, this jazz trio brings an unmatched energy and expertise to every performance.

Individually F&G have worked with an impressive roster of renowned artists and established jazz musicians, including Alex Clarke, Greg Abate, Simon Spillett, B.D. Lenz, Ray Gelato, Kenny Ball, Idina Menzel, Ringo Starr, and Dave Stewart.
Their performances have taken them to some of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals, including the Umbria Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center (New York), Ambassadors Theatre, Glastonbury Festival, South by Southwest (SXSW), and La Bâtie Festival (Geneva). Recent highlights as individuals include a live performance on BBC Radio 4 and appearances at one of London’s premier jazz venues, Pizza Express Jazz Club.
In addition to their role as a rhythm section, this established trio present the innovative project ‘Fugue and Groove.’

Tash is Birmingham’s leading female session drummer with some 20 years performing at The Jam House & a range of leading bands including Fat Chops Big Band, Dino Baptiste & Elle-J Walters.

She is the drummer of choice for numerous jazz, blues, RnB, soul & funk bands in the Midlands.

Tash is The Money Makers Musical Director & band leader & conceived the idea of putting together a blazing team of outstanding Brummie musicians to bring contemporary blues, RnB, Soul, Funk & Jazz to new audiences.

Tash Buxton & the Money Makers are planning a busy year playing gigs and festivals throughout the UK in 2025 & potentially Europe & further afield in 2026.

David is a grade 8 classical guitarist & grade 7 pianist who started treading the boards in his teenage years appearing at The Night Out in Birmingham at the tender age of just 11!

By the time he was 14 he had joined The Dream Factory a 1980’s Mod band who had a hit with
Wine and Roses & came close to securing a major record deal but were pipped to it by The Stone Roses & the rest is history!

David has had a lifelong passion for all styles of roots music including Blues, RnB, Jazz, Soul, Ska & Reggae & fronting The Money Makers represents fulfilment of a lifetime ambition.

He has played at many prestigious venues including both Ronnie Scott’s in London & Birmingham, The Cavern in Liverpool, The 100 Club, The Lexington, Half Moon in Putney, The Jam House, The Hare & Hounds & is a regular at The Actress & Bishop.

His original music band The Restless Souls are gearing up to release their first two singles this summer featuring an A list band of musicians. Watch this space…..!

Liam Halloran is a multi-instrumentalist & graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire Jazz department.
He officially studied the vibraphone but mostly makes a living from playing the drums & piano in a huge variety of projects, including theatre shows, wedding bands, big bands, jazz ensembles & plays gigs all over the country.

A versatile freelancer who has played in every shape & size of venue, highlights of which include the Royal Albert Hall in London & Carnegie Hall in New York.

• Wayne Matthews:
Bass Guitarist

Coventry born Wayne Matthews is a predominantly self-taught electric & acoustic fretless bassist coming from both a Classical & Gospel music background who studied at The Leeds College of Music, taking a Classical Degree primarily on the Viola with jazz elements whilst also playing Electric & Double Bass in various College ensembles & bands.

Wayne has had lessons from Steve Thomas Cook, Robin Mullarkey (Zero Seven, Jacob Collier), Gary Willis, Mike Walker & is mentored by Laurence Cottle.

His musical influences are far reaching from Bach & Hindemith to Folk, Gospel, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Reggae & World Music which has been reflected in his multi- faceted performances in the UK & Internationally including the West End – The Tina Tuner Show, Jack & The Beanstalk (Hammersmith Lyric), Once on This Island (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) TV (Fuji Rock), radio, gospel, orchestral (Limelight Orchestra), big bands (Crash Collective, Fat Chops, Jazz Colossus and Swingshift10), folk ensembles, singer-songwriter, jazz, latin, soul & reggae.

Wayne is currently part of two exciting projects with top UK Trumpeter Bryan Corbett (Instrumental Groove Unit) which features Luke Harris – drummer for The Brand New Heavies & Peggy’s Skylight proprietor Paul Deets on the Fender Rhodes & also Derby based vocalist Helen Gayle & mutil-keyboardist Matt Ratcliffe’s – Latin Voices.

He runs a weekly Jazz Jam Session in Leamington Spa (Jazz Jam Wednesdays), which is in its 10th year & is involved with Jazz jams at the Donkey in Leicester plus Nottingham & Northampton.
He is also involved with school ensembles, teaches at Nexus ICA & Coventry University including private students & from 2015-2022 had been involved in developing young artists with 2Funky Project Live in Leicester.

He is Inspired by bassists such as James Jamerson, Anthony Jackson, Jaco Pastourious, John Patitucci, Ray Brown, Christian McBride, Richard Bona, Sam Sims, Fred Hammond, Andrew Gouche, Gary Willis, Laurence Cottle, Robin Mullarkey, Freddie Thompson, Rocco Prestia & far too many to mention!

The Ac30s are a 7 piece experienced and highly professional band based in the Midlands with a vast knowledge of the music they play. Concentrating on original Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae genres (with a dash of 2-Tone here and there), they pride themselves on being true to the original recordings.

The band are also proud to have been the backing band for chart topper Susan Cadogan (‘Hurt So Good’ 1975 ,’ Fever’ etc), Carroll Thompson (‘I’m So Sorry’, ‘Hopelessly in Love’ 1981), Troy Ellis (Son of Alton Ellis), the U.K touring band of Stranger Cole (‘Uno Dos Tres’, ‘Bangaran’, ‘Rough and Tough’) and Alpheus, Derrick Morgan, Dave Barker and Roy & Yvonne.

Many years with The Steve Gibbons Band, Bob was a founder member, he played on all the albums in the early years, also appearing on Top of the Pops performing Tulane and touring the States with Steve supporting The Who. Bob also appeared on Top of the Pops with the Ruby Turner Band during his twenty some years with the soul diva.
Bob is still much in demand as a session player and music teacher.
