We’re delighted to welcome the drummer led Aidan Amann Trio, which features…
▪︎ Jazz pianist Nick Manz (BBC Young Jazz Musician Finalist in 2022)
▪︎ & the outstanding Josh Vadiveloo – Double bass.
The trio is formed of students and graduates of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire each individually stamping their mark on the midlands and national jazz scenes…
They will be offering their take on traditional jazz standards and original compositions.
Jazz lovers this is a night not to be missed!

• Aidan Amann
While studying with UK jazz greats including Clark Tracey and Andrew Bain at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Aidan has been performing regularly around the midlands and beyond.
Since his early gigs with his father, pianist Tim Amann, Aidan has gone on to play with the best up and coming talent in the country, at prestigious venues such as Peggy’s Skylight, 1000 Trades and with members of the Siena Conservatory at the 2022 Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
• Nick Manz (piano) has been praised by critics as ‘exciting, absolutely brilliant’ (Ayanna Witter-Johnson), with ‘rapid, shimmering pianism and virtuosic melodic fluency’ (Planet Hugill). After studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Rob van Bavel, he was then offered a scholarship at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where he now studies. Artistic influences include Sullivan Fortner, Kenny Kirkland and Olivier Messiaen.
Nick is a regular performer on the Birmingham jazz circuit.
• Josh Vadiveloo is a bassist from Bedfordshire. He began playing electric bass at age nine and took up double bass to play in his upper school orchestra; resulting in a four-year scholarship award to study jazz at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with tutors Mark Hodgson and Arnie Somogyi!
Josh, is a highly active member of the UK jazz scene, whose rise as a local name continues to gain momentum, performing & touring with Xhosa Cole and being an active sideman & band leader.
Josh gigs regularly in various venues in and around Birmingham, abroad and in Europe.
We’re thrilled he’s finally joining us at The Blue Piano!

Music lovers this is a night not to be missed…these vibrant young musicians consisting of both University of Birmingham students & rising through the ranks/in demand players are causing a stir on the scene…,playing Moseley Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival in July…we’re super buzzing they’ll be feasting our ears in April…

Impossible Conversations is a jazz band that blends the sounds of traditional jazz with contemporary musical styles. Made up of a group of young musicians, each bringing their unique musical backgrounds to the table, the band creates a sound that is both familiar and fresh. With a deep love for the Jazz genre, the members of Impossible Conversations seek to push the boundaries of jazz and create something truly special with every performance.
The Birmingham based band bring together five young and unique musicians consisting of both a tight rhythm section and front line with Louis Hamilton-Foad (Drums), Gabriel Amann (Trumpet),Sam Sharpe (Bass), Alex Smith (Keys), Archie Tulk (Sax)
